Explore Ann Bogart and Tina Landau’s Viewpoints, Frantic Assembly Devising Techniques & Ensemble Practices to create compelling physical and visual performance. We will also touch on how to apply these techniques to an Individual Project with pre existing text and how to generate and integrate text into an ensemble setting. “Kate Sherman has worked with our senior Drama students for many years. She is a highly experienced and astute workshop facilitator who draws students into sophistication and originality in their work as she helps them traverse the fraught journey to develop ensemble pieces. She is able to work with a range of student abilities so students can access the activities from a variety of levels and they always find something that surprises and extends them. I couldn't recommend Kate more highly.”

“I've had the pleasure of working with Kate Sherman as a movement practitioner for the last decade in events such as State Drama Camp, Ensembles, workshops and teacher professional development. Kate's approach to making sophisticated, accessible, engaging movement work always lifts the quality of student work. I recommend her practice and teaching to everyone to expand how to create”. meaning on stage using movement.

“Kate’s incredible depth of knowledge about Viewpoints and physical performance practice combined with her extensive experience as a teaching artist makes her an exceptional facilitator and artistic guide. She creates a space and leads a process that encourages you to expand and extend your practice, no matter what level of experience you are starting from. These workshops are a much needed and welcomed space for performance artists to deepen practice and come together as a community”.
Michael Piggot - Senior Lecturer - University of Notre Dame
“Kate’s workshops are a terrific way of developing your movement-based pedagogy as well as reigniting your own theatre practice. She is a confident facilitator and incredibly skilled at working ‘in the moment’ adapting to the skills-level and demographic of the group to create workshops that are authentic and alive. It was so much fun to just let go and be the student for a while – and a terrific reminder of why we all do this crazy stuff. I loved every minute of it and have lots of new ideas to share with my students!”

“My sessions with Kate were incredible. She show me how to properly understand and perform texts that I wasn’t familiar with. I was shown how to embrace and become my character, a side to performing that I hadn't focussed on. We spent 6 months working on my HSC monologue and my audition monologues for performing arts Uni’s in the United States. Thanks to Kate I got full marks for my Monologue, and got into my dream drama school in LA. She played a major role in making this happen.”
